Joint seat allocation authority 2020 or JoSAA has been set up by Education ministry in order to manage the joint seat allocation for admission in 111 institution this year. In this blog I will provide you all the necessary information, all the important dates regarding josaa counselling 2020. This authority provide admission in 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST shibpur, 26 IIITs and 30 GFTIs.

So, let's discuss about josaa counselling in detail...

1-Admission process in IIT, NIT, IIITs and GFTIs will start after the declaration of JEE advanced result which is scheduled on 5 October 2020. 

2-From October 6, 2020 candidate registration and choice filling for academic program on the jossa will start.

3-On October 12, 2020 Mock seat allocation 1  will takes place based on the choice filling of the students.

4-On October 14, 2020 Mock seat allocation to will take space based on the choice filling of the students.

Under mock seat allocation students are given seats according to their choice filling but remember the calculation of the seat is done on the basis of number of students who have registered for mock seat allocation. So this might not be the actual seat which you will be getting in the future. As many students do  not participate in mock seat allocation and therefore they are not included in this calculation but they might participate in actual round. This is just the trial of the state which may get. 

5- On October, 15 candidate registration and choice filling by students under josaa ends.

6-On October, 16 reconciliation of data verification and validation of elected state will take place.

7- On October, 17 seat allocation round 1 will take place according to the choice filling of the students.

8- From October 17 to October 19 online reporting fee payment, document upload, response by candidate to query if required for around 1 will takes place.

9- October 20 is the last day to respond to query round 1.

10- On October 21 seat will be provided to the students for round 1 counselling availability status will be shown . On the same day seat allocation round 2 will start.

11- From October 22 to 23 online reporting, fee payment, document upload and response by candidate to query if required for round 2 will take place.

12- October 24 is the last day to response to query around 2.

13- From October 22 to October 24 withdrawal of seats, exit from seat allocation processor round 2 you will be available for the students.

14- On October 26 display of seat filled by the students, available status will be soon and on the same day seat allocation of round 3 will also start.

15- From October 27 to October 28 online reporting, fee payment, document upload response by candidate to query if required round 3 will take place.

16- October 29 is the last date response to query round 3.

17- From October 27 to October 29 students can withdraw seat, exit from the seat allocation process round 3.

18- On October 30 display of seats filled by the students and availability status will be shown and on the same day seat allocation round 4 will start.

19- From October 30 to November 1 online reporting, fee payment, document upload response by candidate to query if required round 4 will start.

20- November 2  is the last date to respond to query round 4.

21- From October 31 to  November 2 students can withdraw seat, exit from seat allocation process round 4.

22- On November 3 display of seat filled by the students, availability status and seat allocation round 5 will start.

23- From November 4 to November 5 online reporting, fee payment, document upload response by candidate to query if required round 5 will take place.

24- On November 6 last date to respond to query round 5 and notification of the decision on seat confirmation round 5 will take place.

25- From November 4 to November 6 students can withdraw seat, exit from seat allocation process round 5.

26- On November 7 display of seats filled availability status and seat allocation round 6 will start.

26- On November 8 online reporting fee payment document upload response by candidate to query if required round 6 will take place.

Note: Reporting may also be done at admitting IIT in round 6.

27- November 19 is the last date to response to query round 6.

28- From November 9 to 13 admission process along with document verification for acceptance of seat or withdrawal of seat by physical presence allotted institutes for nit will take place, if students are  not able to show their physical presence in admit Institute it  can  be done by online mode.

Note: Choice filling- Candidates are required to field their choice in decreasing order of their  interest. Whatever might be your rank your priority College should be at the top and other colleges will be placed below it. Don't feel the choice according to the previous year cutoff because they may change. Fill the choice of the college according to your preference and interest. 

Documents Required:

1- Class 10 marksheet.

2- Class 12 marksheet.

3- Caste certificate/ reservation certificate.

4- Income Certificate.

5- Medical certificate.

6- Gap certificate for droppers.

7- JEE mains marksheet and admit card.

8- Bill payment slip.

9- Seat allotment letter.
